GENERAL INFORMATION
Residência Pediátrica (RP) does not charge submission, peer review, publication, or access fees (no APC). Complete institutional information, editorial policies, and indexing data are available in the section About RP.
LICENSE
Accepted manuscripts are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/
By accepting the Submission Agreement, authors agree to these terms.
PREPRINT POLICY
Manuscripts previously deposited as preprints in reliable, open-access public repositories are accepted. Prior availability as a preprint is not considered prior publication and does not prevent submission to the journal.
At the time of submission, authors must inform the existence of the preprint, including the corresponding link or DOI.
After publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with the full reference and DOI of the published version in the journal.
OPEN DATA POLICY
The deposition of research data is not mandatory for submission or publication.
Whenever possible, authors are encouraged to make available the data, codes, instruments, and supplementary materials supporting the results presented in the manuscript. When shared, data should be deposited in reliable open-access repositories, preferably with persistent identifiers (such as DOI), and cited in the article.
Data sharing is not recommended when it involves:
- Sensitive or confidential data
- Information that allows identification of patients, participants, services, or institutions
- Restrictions imposed by Research Ethics Committees (CEP/CAAE)
- Legal, contractual, or institutional limitations, including those established by the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD)
When data cannot be shared, this condition must be clearly stated and justified in the manuscript.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USE POLICY
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools must be declared at the time of submission.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors and may only be used as technical support (e.g., language revision or translation). Authors remain fully responsible for the content, originality, and conclusions of the manuscript.
The insertion of sensitive, confidential, or identifiable data into AI systems is strictly prohibited.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in requests for corrections or rejection of the manuscript.
EDITORIAL AND ETHICAL POLICY
Submitted manuscripts must comply with ethical standards and principles of scientific integrity. Cases of misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, and improper authorship, may result in manuscript rejection, requests for correction, or retraction of a published article.
For research involving human subjects, submission of the Certificate of Ethical Approval (CAAE) and identification of the responsible Research Ethics Committee (CEP) are mandatory, in accordance with the CEP/CONEP system.
All authors must declare potential conflicts of interest. Editors and reviewers must declare conflicts and recuse themselves from manuscript evaluation when applicable.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
Submissions may be made in Portuguese or English exclusively through the GNPapers/RP system, upon prior registration:
https://www.gnpapers.com.br/rp
At the final step of submission, the author may preview the manuscript in the system and save a PDF copy for reference. To complete submission, reading and agreement with the Submission Agreement (Copyright) is mandatory, available at:
https://residenciapediatrica.com.br/Content/arquivos/copyright.pdf?
By accepting the agreement, authors consent to the journal’s editorial and copyright conditions. Written authorization is required for the reproduction of third-party copyrighted material, when applicable.

Preferably, the first author should be a pediatric medical resident under supervision of a preceptor affiliated with a residency program.
